Kiev and Moscow ready to hold more face-to-face talks, while the United States welcomes the big step forward

And this news comes despite Ukrainian complaints that negotiations were undermined by a series of deadly attacks.

The tripartite talks in the United Arab Emirates will resume on 1 February, an American official said on Saturday.

He added: “I think meeting everyone together was a big step. I think it's a confirmation of the fact that, first of all, a lot of progress has been made to date in determining the details needed to reach a” conclusion.

The talks were the first known direct contact between Ukrainian and Russian officials on a plan that is being postponed by Donald Trump to end the nearly four-year war.

And Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that “discussed a lot and it is important that the conversations be constructive”.
