Through a Facebook post, Rexhepi said he is continuing tracking the national flag, while adding that it is clear that institutional pressure on Albanians in the Presevo Valley continues.
“Falur is treated as violations, while discrimination as state policy. We will not retreat. Dignity is not judged”, he wrote.
In this regard, the only Albanian MP in the Serbian Parliament, Shaip Kamberi, has reacted.
He said the move represents another evidence of denial of the right for free expression of national identity and continuing political persecution against Albanians.
Serbia remains the only state in the Balkans that, through discriminatory laws, prevents the use of national symbols of the Albanian minority -- a practice that conflicts with European standards and fundamental human rights. Using the flag is not a crime. Our identity cannot be judged. Rights are not spared by popular comfort or by the pragmatism of others. They're protected by our insistence”, Camber wrote. /Periscope/
