Hasani: VV approach to constitution accelerates Serbian autonomy

In an interview for Gazeta Express, former Constitutional Court Chairman Enver Hasani stated that yesterday's DK Act on the unconstitutionality of choosing Nenad Rassic as deputy chairman from the ranks of the Serb community, with Vetevendosje's proposal, is “constation for brutal wrongdoing and without predominate provisions protecting the equality of communities and political representation in the Kosovo Constitution. ”

He stressed that the Court has reminded the winning party that majority democracy cannot be tyrannical to anyone, in particular to minority communities.” According to him, “Rassic does not represent the Serb community; it represents those who have the most seats in the Kosovo Assembly. ”

Hasani warned that the reaction of Parliament Speaker Dimal Basha, “before signs that the ruling party will continue with the practice of destroying constitutional order, blackmail and threats to judges. ”

The former head of the Constitution added that “this logic of power only accelerates the implementation of Serbian autonomy in Kosovo” and will bring “invenisation of the international factor, with offers affecting the foundations of February 17th independence. ”

It concluded that Kosovo's “state is strengthened only by precisely respecting the Kosovo Constitution, the Ahtisaari Plan and obligations for protection of minorities. ”
