Elez: It'll be worth the recount, not the QKN.

CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi has clarified that it is under the authority of this institution to decide on the recounting of deployments or counting centres, and therefore, the result that will be used in announcing final election results will be the one to emerge from the recounting process.

For the recounting of all seats, the CEC decided after a verification conducted at 33 locations, where the votes of candidates counted at the Communist Counting Centres did not correctly reflect votes on the ballot.

“The General Election Law gives the CEC the right to decide to recount the vote in any poll or counting centre. In this direction, the CEC has implemented the law, so what outcome will be applied after the recounting of all deployments, it is clear: the final results will include the data or results released from the recount process and not by the numbering that was conducted at the 911 Accounting Centre, Elez said.

Meanwhile, even Friday, at the Counting and Results Centre is continuing the re-enactment of deployments.

The “from January 13th, at the Centre for Counting and Results, is continuing the process of recounting the deployments, which is being realised on the basis of two decisions by the Central Election Commission, including the recount of all deployments, 2,557 soos. From the beginning of this process and so far, more than 50% of the deployments have been re-counted, in which the regular election process” has been held on December 28th, Elesi said.

According to the CEC's first decision, on January 13th, 2026, the recounting of 914 deployments was preceded, while with the second decision, January 19, 2026, is set to include another 1,643 seats, extending the process overall.
