Britain boycotts Peace Board ceremony due to Putin's involvement

US President Donald Trump has invited dozens of world leaders to join his “Bord of Peace”.

While the board was originally set up to oversee the truce in Gaza, it has now become something much more ambitious, writes Skynews.

When a journalist asked him earlier this week whether the board should replace the UN, Trump said that “could thus be”.

Furthermore, board members have caused controversy.

Who will eventually join the board is still uncertain at this point.

Traditional allies like Italy have refused.

Others, including nations that have long had strained relations with Washington, such as Belarus, have accepted it.

Russia was also invited, but has said it is still examining the proposal.

However, Trump said last night in Davos that Vladimir Putin had accepted the invitation. /Periscope
