Rooney talks about alcohol addiction: My Wife Saved Me From Death

Wayne Rooney talked about alcohol addiction, saying it was his wife who saved her from death.

He said he drank without stopping as he discovered how he hid it in Manchester United training.

In a podcast, Rooney discovered that his partner, Colleen, stood by him in difficult times.

I guess if it wasn't for Colleen, I'd be dead. I wanted to go out and have fun with my friends. I got to a point where I went too far.

I suffered a lot from alcohol and stopped. I could drink for two days. I remember going to practice with Manchester United, I looked into it, and I used chewing gum to keep me from noticing. At the weekend I scored goals and then drank for two straight days”, Rooney said.
