This is Ben Yeedder's second sentence in less than a year. In November, he received a two-year prison sentence conditioned for sexual assault on a woman committed two months ago.
In 2023, a Spanish court also sentenced him to six months in prison on bail for tax evasion during 20162019 at Seville.
He is also under investigation, along with his brother Sabri, for raping two women in 2023, charges both deny.
On the matter of psychological violence, the French prosecution had sought an eight-month prison sentence on bail and a fine of $10,000.
Instead, the court fined him $90,000 and ordered to pay a further 60,000 $ 60,000 (U.S.) in compensation for his wife and half for judicial expenses.
Divorce is under way.
Ben Yedder, former Monaco captain of League 1, ranks second on the list of best goal scorers in club history. He's been without a club since a short time this year at Sepahan in Iran.
