The “Rajko Mitic” stadium will be with reduced capacity after Serbia was punished by the U EFA for its racist behaviour of fans in June against Andorra. A similar situation occurred in 2019 in Sofia, when England faced Bulgaria and the match was interrupted twice because of racist insults.
Speaking to the media, Kane said: “Yes, we had a similar situation in Bulgaria. UEFA has its protocols and we know the steps to follow. We are clear about what we want to do. We hope it won't happen, but if it happens, we're ready to make the decision. ”
Even the coach of England, Thomas Tuchel, confirmed that the case was discussed with the FA: “I didn't speak directly to the players, but the FA spoke to us about it. We believe in good and hope that the match will take place at a high sports level, celebrating football for what it is. ”
England aims to win the second round after the success against Andorra, but facing Serbia in a hot environment is expected to be one of the group's most delicate challenges.
