Ulreich's son Len, born in 2018, lost his battle with a serious illness in June.
Ulreich, who signed a new contract with Bayern a few days ago, wrote in the Instagram: “With deep sadness we wish to announce today that our son Len passed away weeks ago after a long and serious illness. ”
The decision to make this public now is extremely difficult for us, however, is an important step for us as a family to create clarity within our environment and also in the eyes of the public. ”
“S, together with our daughter, we are now trying to find our way back to life step by step. Special thanks to our families, friends and Bayern Munich for their discretion and great support over the past few months means much to us”, Ulreich also wrote.
