For most clubs promoted in Premierliga, the main goal is survival.
But for some of them, ambitions go farther, and expenses are too large.
As some teams approach Premierligle carefully and with a conservative budget, others enter vigorously, displaying financial muscles in the merkato.
In the last two seasons, all three promoted clubs have fallen immediately from the category -- a phenomenon that in the Premierliga era had occurred only once before.
This shows how difficult survival is today because of the ever - increasing difference between Premierliga and Championship.
To avoid falling, clubs often have to make big investments, and that is what many of the teams promoted have done.

Sunderland, which won the promotion in May last year after winning the play-off game against Sheffield United, has spent a lot during summer mercatos, bringing together big names like Arsenal midfielder Granit Jaka, and new talent Habib Dirrra.
According to Transfermark analysis, the team that spent the most on merkato after the promotion is Nottingham Forest, which in the summer following the climb of the 2021/22 season spent a total of 155.2m euros on 13 players, able to survive hard on Premierliga, ending in 17th place.
Second place is Sunderland with 153m euros, and with a new transfer, Forest can pass.
Third place is Aston Willa, promoted in the 2019/20 season, which spent 148.6m euros and also managed to survive.
Burnley, which was promoted this season, is in fourth place at 125.7m euros.
Fifth and sixth place is Ipswich and Southampton, who spent a lot before last season but collapsed.
Fulham and Burnley also spent large numbers in the seasons when they were promoted, but failed to survive.
