Shigetoshi Kotar has died on Friday and Hiromas Urakawa on Saturday, following injuries suffered in their actions at the “Korakuen” hall in Tokyo on August 2nd, according to Japanese media.
The two 28-year-old boxers underwent operations on subdural or bleeding inside the skull, according to reports.
“expresses the deepest condolences to the families, friends and Japanese boxing community, at this very difficult time”, was said in the statement by the World Boxing Organisation on Saturday, to announce the death of Urakawa, which was conquered by Yiji Saito.
Kotar died as a result of the injury during the match with Yamato Hatan, which was closed to 12 rupees, according to the World Boxing Council.
