In history, there were 50 editions of the UEFA Supercup, with the latest Paris Saint-Germain defeating Tottenham Hotspur to win the trophy and add 4.3 million pounds to the club's crates.
The race sees champions of the Champions League face the winners of the League of Europe, as it was originally a match between European Cup champions and winners of the Cup of Cup Victors.

But the first case of this meeting is not known as an official match by U EFA.
Dutch journalist Anton Whitkamp is the man responsible for establishing the race, which is designed to crown the best team in Europe.
The first edition was played in two matches in January 1973 and saw Rangers face Ajax in Glasgow and Amsterdam, losing in the end with a total score of 6-3.
57,000 gathered in Ibrox for the spectacular match, with another 26,000 showing up for the second match in Amsterdam.
Rangers had won the Cup of Cup Winners in 1972 and celebrated their 100th anniversary in 1973, but they were having a suspension for bad behaviour of fans in the finals in Nou Camp means the match had to take place in an informal way.

U n EFA approved the concept of Supercups later that year and the first edition known by the board without Ajax to preserve the crown by defeating Milan by 6-1.
A trophy was not divided until 1987 when Steau Bucharest defeated Dynamo Kyiv, while there were three occasions when a Superkupa match was not held due to a combination of time and bans.

Everest was unable to meet the 1985 excellent match against Juvento because English clubs were banned from participating in Europe.
Cup of Cup winners replaced by Cup U EFA in 1999 and 15 successive finals took place at the Louis II Stade in Monaco before it was decided to play in different locations throughout the continent. /Periscope/
