After Usik's controversial victory over Dubois in Wroclaw's first encounter in August 2023, the two boxers again faced a battle for all heavyweight titles. On images published by Darren Aston on X (former-Twitter), you see that Duboi's angle threw the towel in the ring when he was on the floor after the Usik hit.

According to boxing regulations, throwing a towel means loss of TKO (technic knockout) and not loss of direct knockout. Although Dubois stood up and tried to continue, the judge had begun counting and had finally stopped facing without even looking at the towel.

Duboi's Problems Before Mechi

It is said that Duboi's preparation for this great deal has not been ideal. According to reports, his father Stanley Dubois had organized a party at their residence in Essex, where Daniel did not know most guests and had left home to take a drive.
