Five Kosovo police officers yesterday were arrested under suspicion of “murders by the 27-year-old Agon Zamenu in Lipjan. Amazingly, incumbent Minister of Internal Affairs Jelal Svecla did not make a sound yet, as a common one when revealing details from police investigations. As for the occasion, there were reactions from several deputies and representatives of civil society, from the incumbent government still nothing told them, writes Periscopi.

Ehat Miftaraj from the Kosovo Institute for Justice has asked the heads of state to react, as according to him, the 27-year-old died yesterday in the state's hand.

The way five police officers managed this situation at least could be called indiscretion and extreme amateurism.

While former Police Director and MP Rashit Qalaj praised that the new generations of police are not properly prepared in terms of the use of force and accused the current Police Director of management of the institution.

I think it's a serious problem that we're seeing as Kosovo citizens, in the new generations of police that I think are not properly prepared in terms of the use of force, and this is due to short training Kosovo police currently have at the Academy for Public Security”, Qalaj told Periscope.

“I think management has to do and return police integrity to the general director, he is responsible along with the police management and then until the police station, and to be more concrete until the leader of the entire chain shift are responsible for how young police officers work, communication mode, behavioral approach, duty approach and so on”, he added.

Security connoisseur Burim Ramadani has demanded that justice go to the end in the case of the 27-year-old, asking that “who is influencing the degradation of the Kosovo Police like this? ”

The death of 27-year-old in Lipjan, journalist Ilir Mirena and lawyer Arian Koci, have compared Geroge Floyd's death in America.
