A few hours after this was observed, it was Ronaldo himself who reacted to the absence of this farewell ceremony of his friend, claiming that he was not present because of his popularity, and this would cause incidents.
“Randaldo chose not to attend the ceremony in Gondomar, Portugal, because of his status as a global star. He decided that it could be more harmful than beneficial for him to be there, as he would draw excessive attention at a time when the family is in mourning”, the Lusitan media say.
Ronaldo is further said to have communicated with Jotham's family, his parents and his wife, suggesting the reason for his absence and offering his support.
Diogo Jota lost his life as a result of an accident in Zambia, Spain, where his car broke out after the crash, while his brother Andre Silva, the football player of Penafiel, was with him. /Periscope/
