Donald Trump confirms participation in World Club finals

The World Cup final for Club Club, which will take place on Sunday (July 13th) at the MetLife Stadium, is expected to serve as a test for the 2026 World Cup final, as this stadium, the home of the New York Jets and New York Giants, will also be the place where the final event [...]

The final will be held for the first time in history in three countries simultaneously, the United States of America, Canada and Mexico, with a record turnout of 48 nationals.

FIFA has already moved its legal department to Miami, where employees responsible for the operational organisation of the World Cup Club and World Cup tournament 2026.

“will go to match”, US President Donald Trump told reporters.

The statement comes shortly after FIFA President Gianni Infantino's announcement of the opening of a new FIFA office in “Trump Tower”, further deepening the organisation's presence on American territory a year before the World.

“FIFA is a global organisation and, to be so, there must be local presence everywhere. That's why it's important to be in New York, not only for this year's tournament and the World Cup next year, but also for the functioning of our offices”, Infantino said, according to the International Football Federation's official announcement.

Infantino also added that FIFA has received extraordinary support from the American government and from President” himself through the White House working group that deals with the organisation of next year's World Cup for Club and World Cup.

Also, FIFA announced that the World Cup trophy for Club will be displayed at “Trump Tower” from Tuesday through Saturday, on the eve of the final.

President Trump has not avoided reflecting sports during his second term, Panorama follows.

He became the first incumbent to attend the Super Bowl final in February, while in May he announced from Oval Office that Washington would be host to NFL Draft in 2027.

However, its strict policies on immigration and the ban on the entry of citizens from 12 countries have sparked concerns over the organisation of the World 2026.

Despite that, FIFA president has guaranteed that the US will welcome the entire world to the biggest international football event.

A document provided last month by the Reuters agency shows the Trump administration is considering the possibility of significant expansion of travel restrictions, including halting US entry into citizens from 36 other countries.
