Valdet Rama does not fear Serbs lead a strong message to Albania's players

All have “eyes of heart” at the Albanian National Centre tonight. Albania will face Serbia, starting at 20:45 at the “Air Albania” Stadium. Albanians are enthusiastic, as everyone believes in victory.

Former Albanian National football player Valdet Rama believes that. In an exclusive interview given to “Newsport.al”, the 37-year-old attacker, who has also been present at the 14 October 2014 match Serbia dealt with Albania, says the incidents of that challenge make him feel bad.

Among other things, Rama says the National has the quality to win tonight, stressing that Serbia is not a major opponent, as Spain might be. In the opinion of the attacker, the match will end 2-1 in favour of the Reds, writes Telegraph, broadcast Periscope.

What memories come to mind when you remember the Belgrade match in October 2014?

It's a match you'll never forget, it's a historical game. From the beginning when we went to Belgrade, we realized it wasn't a normal match. But again, as sportsmen and footballers, we went there to win the game. We didn't expect what happened, we were all shocked. We tried to come out as a group, as a collective in that situation. We were all shocked and it was an extremely bad feeling.

Do you think Albania is stronger than the red team where you were part of Serbia 11 years ago?

To be honest, then we had different players, different characters and other trainers. Today we have a coach with another game idea. We got really good players now. The quality is growing, so we have the quality to beat Serbia today. It takes faith and courage, we need to see this quality in the first seconds of the game's beginning.

What chance does our nationals get to get a positive result, so victory?

Like I said, we have the game at home. We have the quality to beat Serbia. Serbia too has quality, but we are not playing against Spain or some big team, where more or less people know it's very difficult. This fight will certainly be difficult, but I am convinced that we will win if we enter the field courageously, search and win the main duels. I'm sure we have a great fight to fight and win it.

What players do you think are the strength of the Albanian National?

We have very good individual players. But I believe that Albania has always been a collective team, we have worked well and we have had good results. That's why I hope the whole team works well tonight. Who scores goals is not important. Let's look at a good match for Albania, to function well as a welcome one, I wish them all the best.
