According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the crucial meeting took place Tuesday in Rijeka, where Milan's sports director, Igli Tare, received personal confirmation from Modric.
A recent attempt to convince Modric to return to Croatia was made by Zvonimir Boban, president of Dinamo Zagreb. Boban asked that he close his career at the country club.
Modric, however, politely refused and announced Boban's decision to join Milan. He thanked him for his respect and friendship, but stressed that he was ready for a recent challenge in the European elite.
Ironically, Modric had been raised as Milan's fan precisely because of Boban, his youth idol. Now, their streets meet again, but with Modrick starting a new chapter in a club where Boban made history. /Periscope
