The 28-year-old, winner of the Golden Ball and the goalist of the 2023 Champions League final, has been in negotiations for nearly a year with “Citizens”.
Talks on the new contract had stalled temporarily due to a serious damage to the collapse of the infection crucified in September that left it out of the fields until the end of the season. However, his recovery has been extraordinary and he has returned to action as substitute in the match before his end. Now, Rodri is expected to have a key role in the World Cup for Club, to be held soon.

Currently, Rodri earns about 234 thousand euros a week. The new contract will raise its salary of over 350 thousand euros a week, making the second most paid player in Man City after Erling Haaland.
This offer highlights its importance as one of the best defence midfielders in the world and the team's undisputed leader.
Real Madrid's interest in Rodrin has been long known, however, Manchester City seems determined to keep it for many more years.
Meanwhile, Man City is also working on midfield reinforcement. The club is close to finalising Milan midfielder's 70m-euro transfer, Tiija Reynders, and following Lyons' talented attacker Rayan Chery, with an offer of about 41m euros.
These movements are part of City's plans ahead of their trip to the United States.
