“FC Barcelona activated the player's clause. The cost of the clause was 25m euros. This Friday, the player will sign a contract with Barça for the next six seasons, until June 30th 2031, at a private ceremony in FC Barcelona offices.”, written in the Catalan statement.
After Barca paid the clause last Friday, and after La Liga verified it and all bureaucratic procedures were completed, Barcelona announced that Joan Garcia, is the first purchase for the 2025-26 season.
After being formalised, the player from Salent will sign the physical contract with FC Barcelona for the next six seasons this Friday and will be introduced at a private event at the Catalan club offices.
Unlike previous presentations, the club decided that this time the format would be more similar to that of renovations. Joan Garcia will go to club offices accompanied by his representative, Juanma López, and his family, where he will sign the contract together with President Joan Laporta and Barca Sports Director Deco, his biggest supporter during the negotiations. Later, he will make his first statements as a Barca player for the club media.
Joan Garcia landed in Barcelona last Tuesday after several days of holiday in Azore. The new Catalan goalie, like the rest of his teammates, was called by Hansi Flick on July 13th, the day the preparation phase begins, before the Catalan team heads to Japan on 24 to begin the Asian tournament. /Periscope/
