One of the best Albanian athletes in history, Nora Gjakova, has declared candidacy for an important position in the International Judo Federation (IJF).
Olympic champion Gjakova has submitted her candidacy to the IJF Sports Commission. Nora Gjakova is the official candidate of the Republic of Kosovo for the country on this commission.
The country competition at the IJF Sports Commission is highly regarded. Judis with names compete to introduce athletes, while lobbies are large and long-term.
The mandate of this commission is four years old, as is the Olympic cycle. The commission's current chairman is Austrian Sabrina Filzmoser.
Judists themselves decide for five commission members, while four others are elected by the IJF. Each great continent has a representative on the commission. For European representatives, competition is the biggest, and therefore Nora is in the race.
It has won gold medals at the “Tokio 2020” Olympic Games, held in 2021 due to pandemic. There are also world bronze medals and many gold medals and other European medals. For a long time it was among the best jungles in the world in the category of up to 57 kilos. Nora is presented in three editions of the Olympic Games, which is a very important experience.
She competed recently in Paris's Grand Slam on February 1st and won bronze medals. He's not expected to compete anymore.
The IJF Sports Commission is deemed important to protect Judists' interests. The bridge between Judists and IJF leaders, an organisation in which Kosovo is highly valued, reports Time.net, broadcast Periscope.
“Nora has proudly represented Kosovo in three editions of the Olympic Games, always being an example of inspiration in and outside the Tatam. Now, she is willing to represent the voices of athletes on the global stage, bringing her experience, integrity and passion for the jungle in the heart of decision-making”, writes at the announcement of the Kosovo Judo Federation.
Commission elections will be held during the World, held this week in Budapest. World-accredited Judiits participate in the elections.
The Kosovo Federation already has a very serious representation at the high levels of the world's judo. Kosovo Federation Chairman Agron Kuka is a member of the Judo European Union Executive Committee. Kosovo coach Driton Kuka, is part of the European Union Coachs Commission and also part of a very small IJF expert group that puts every Olympic cycle on the changes and modifications of the judo sport. /Periscope
