Barcelona takes radical measures against team star, wants its departure in summer

The club wants to get rid of it, but despite having already replaced it with the new acquisition, Joan Garcia, realising that goal is by no means easy. 

Some reports have stressed that Barcelona wants to take out space on the salary list, but the 33-year-old goalkeeper is determined to stay and fight for the title country next season, however, he has shown some signals that he can accept the departure, but only under his terms. 

Barcelona has not yet communicated its official position to Ter Stegen, who is currently on vacation before the launch of preparations for the new season in July. 

By Mundo Deportivo, there are members of the club hierarchy demanding that Ter Stegen be stripped of the team's first captain's tape, followed by the telegraph.

He is currently the lead captain, ahead of Frankie de Jong, Ronald Aruio and Raphael, but since he is not expected to have an important role next season if he stays, there is the conviction that he should no longer take this responsibility. 

The final decision on this will meet coach Hansi Flick, who will also decide who Barcelona's top goalkeeper will be next season. 

If Ter Stegen is removed from the captains, Inigo Martinez has been described as one of the main candidates to replace him in the group of captains. /Periscope/
