Emergency services have surrounded the area where Liverpool's bus went to the Premier League title parade, following reports of a serious incident.
After raising the trophy on Sunday at Anfield, Liverpool's stars celebrated the 20th league title with a parade across the city, while Arne Slot players were greeted by hundreds of thousands of fans filling the streets.
But on Monday evening, images and videos related to a shocking incident in the centre of town appeared on social networks, where I claimed a car had hit pedestrians on Water Street, near Dale Street.
Photographs taken from an air view showed a black car on the street, with police officers present with a fire truck, the telegraph writes.
As seen in the moving photos, some ambulances soon arrived at the scene and a little later, Liverpool EchOr received a statement from the Merseyside police, who gave an update and confirmed that a man was detained at the scene.
We are currently dealing with reports of a traffic accident in the centre of the city of Liverpool”, the statement said.
We were contacted shortly after 6:00 today on Monday, May 26, after reporting that a car had crashed into a number of pedestrians on Water Street.
“Makina stopped at the scene and a male was arrested. Emergency services are currently at the scene. We'll publish more updates as soon as we get”, police say.
A video taken by a nearby building showed several pedestrians being quickly shot one after another as terrified fans watched what was happening. /Periscope/
