Although, as in previous years, there was speculation for months if Modric would stay, Reali decided not to extend his contract for another year.
The chief role of the club president Florentino Perez, writes the Spanish newspaper Relevo.
He held several meetings with Modric and Reali decided to give new players more chances.
“Modric's contract is running out and Reali is aware that he needs to invest in new players”, writes Relevo, broadcast telegraphy
Modric thanked Perez, among other things, in his farewell letter.
