Kosovo Police, the Directorate for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption (DHKEK), the Regional Unit in North Mitrovica, in co-operation with the Border Police Station in Jarinje, reports that it has taken quick operational actions after accepting a tip-off to police officials.
Police inform that the suspect has been arrested after attempting to bribe police officials in order to allow illegal entry into the Republic of Kosovo of his wife, bypassing the state procedures and criteria in force.
After the immediate response of the Regional Unit for the Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption dealt with North Mitrovica, and under State Prosecutor's guidelines, criminal case for the “District of Ryshfet” has been initiated, according to Article 422 of the Republic of Kosovo's Penal Code.
All investigative actions, including interviewing suspects in the presence of the defence attorney and sequencing material evidence”, have been undertaken during the procedure, the police report said.
It has been analysed by the report of police officials linked to the case, and after reviewing all evidence, regarding the State Prosecutor's criminal procedure has issued a ruling on the detention of the person arrested for 48 hours, the report said. /Periscope/
