Just hours after the club from Anfield confirmed that Trent Alexander - Arnold will join Real Madrid in time to play at the World Cup for Club, Premier League champions have been formalising the deal for the Dutch international Frimpong after activating the 24-year release clause.
Frimpong, a comprehensive player playing with the right, is widely seen as Alexander-Arnold's replacement on coach Arne Slot's team. He was a key part of the historic success of Leverkusen to win the first title in Bundesligla in the 2023-24 season, and recorded 53 presentations in all races as the team finished second in the 2024-25 season, reports Express Journal, broadcast Periscope.
On the right-hand side, Frimpong will have competition from Northern Ireland defender Conor Bradley, who has recently signed a new four-year contract with the club.
The Dutchman grew up at Manchester City Academy and then joined Celtic in September 2019, before moving to Leverkusen in January 2021.
Frimpong joins the Dutch contingent in Liverpool, where it's Virgil van Dijkke, Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch.
Liverpool is also in talks with Leverkusen to sign with Florian Wirtz. The club has entered advanced negotiations for the German assailant, offering about 109 million pounds, including bonus.
Errtz, 22, is a key goal for Liverpool and currently has a feeling that the agreement is towards finalisation, in hopes that a accord will be reached soon.Periscope/
