Club representative Tony Massip shared the details of the deal.
According to him, Nike initially offered 66m euros for the season, but thanks to the intervention of a mediator, the amount rose to 122m euros.
This is truly a historic agreement, especially compared to the previous contract signed under President Josep Bartholomew, which was only 40m euros a year.
The key figure in the negotiations was Darren Dein a well-known soccer agent who used to work with Thierry Henry and Cesc Fabregas. Interestingly, this was not his first co-operation with Barcelona; he also helped with the agreement with Spotification, reports Telegraph, broadcast Periscope.
This time, he convinced Nike to improve their conditions after offering a competitive offer, most likely from Puma. Eventually, Nike accepted the proposal, and Barcelona secured a record contract.
In fact, Laporta deliberately rejected Nike's initial offer because she wanted Barcelona's fanla to become the most valuable in the world. He was aware that Real Madrid receives about 90-95m euros in seasons from Addas.
Now, his team has exceeded their main rival by about 30m euros in the season. /Periscope/
