At a gathering of his party in Nis, Vucic again spoke to our capital, but this time was about a request made to Serbian national football coach Dragan Stojkovic Pique. The Serbian president thanked him for his support and told him that when they go to Tirana, the “must defeat the Albanian national”.
“I saw earlier and now I see he is here, please applaud Serbian coach Dragan Stojković Pike, a legend of Nis, who didn't hide like many others and came to be with us tonight. In June or July, you play there against Albania to defeat them”, the president said.
Albania and Serbia are in the K World Cup qualifying group 2026, and the confrontation between the two teams is expected to be tense, just as the last match between the two nationals in 2016. This meeting at Air Albania takes place on June 7th 2025 at 20:45 and will be played without the presence of Serbian fans.
