The MPJD response has been estimated that Serbia's position constituted clear and unacceptable violations of Belgrade's official obligations under the Brussels and Ohrid Agreement in 2023.
According to the MPJD, Serbia's statement is posing pressure on the sovereign state of Sudan.
Kosovo's “Republic of Kosovo, as a steadfast opposition to peace, dialogue and international co-operation, strongly condemns yesterday's declaration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia over recognition of Kosovo's independence from Sudan. This statement constitutes a clear and unacceptable violation of Serbia's obligations under the EU-launched 2023 Brussels Agreement and Ohrid Implementation Annex of March 2023. Furthermore, it presents an unacceptable effort to exert pressure on Sudan's sovereign government, violating this state's legitimate right to make independent foreign policy decisions”, is said in the PMJD statement, followed. Periscope.
Furthermore, in this statement, Serbia is reportedly working to prevent international strengthening of the state of Kosovo.
Serbia's “Actions directly conflict with the key provisions of the Brussels and the Ohrid Annex Agreement. Article 1 of the Brussels Agreement imposes both sides of “develop normal, good neighbourly relations with each other on the basis of equal rights.” Rejecting Sudan's sovereign decision to recognise Kosovo, Serbia not only fails to fulfil this obligation, but actively works to undermine Kosovo's international commitment”, it has praised MPJD, indicating that Serbia is violating the pledges of the Brussels agreement.
Furthermore, Article 4 of the Brussels Agreement clearly stipulates that Serbia “will not block or encourage others to block Kosovo's membership in international organisations. ” Ohrid's Annex re- heats up this provision, underlining Serbia's obligation to avoid actions that hinder Kosovo's international advancement. Serbia's response to Sudan's recognition constitutes direct violations of these obligations and aims to halt Kosovo's progress towards integration into the global community”, it is said in the statement.
