During the KLP report, Altin Duman said that SPAK has investigated a considerable number of senior officials during 2024. He said 33 former officials, out of whom 19 were sent for trial, were investigated. For 10 senior functionaries, Doman said, decisions on shape have been made over the past year.
“As far as the fight against corruption is concerned, a considerable number of senior officials have been investigated. During 2024, 33 former senior officials -- two of them in two different proceedings -- out of these 19 -- have been sent for trial in court, representing 52.9% of the cases. In 2024, there are 10 top public officials for whom there were decisions of definite form. On the other hand, the number of persons sent to the court constitutes about 35.2% of the total of individuals in the investigation. The 2024 investigation shows that corruption of top officials develops with sophisticated schemes and factors such as institutional impact, involvement of criminal networks and money laundering. Youth has also marked the number of proceedings for money laundering, growth by 34%, compared to the previous year, growth to 34%, while compared to 2021 these proceedings have tripled. During 2024, 132 investigations are found, initiated by individuals and institutions. Investigations initiated by citizens' confessions are evidence of public increase in the Special Prosecutor's Institation.”, Daman said.
