The Pristina municipality today resumed works on “Joorghe Bush” Square, despite twice the ban on works by the Cultural Heritage Inspectorate, asking the municipality for permission equipment from the Kosovo Institute for Protection of Monuments (IKMM) to be completed, EO reports. A few days ago, Rama has said that the ban on the works is illegal and that “reasons for this intervention are groundless by institutions that should be independent and used for political purposes”. According to him, the move is deliberate intervention, which violates Pristina's right to sustainable urban and cultural development.
The Pristina municipality project is worth 18.4m euros.
