The scandal was discovered by the silver television channel “El Nuve” (Canal 9) who published images and audio of a hidden camera where Moretty is seen receiving a considerable amount of money and putting it in his jacket pocket.
In the video, the president is heard telling his wife: “Speak as if it were a business”, while the conversation focuses on the amount to be paid to secure the player's contract. He was clear about his request: “25,000 or $30,000”, and when mother suggested that payment be made in two installments, he flatly replied: “The sooner, the better”. Shocking images have triggered harsh reactions in media and social networks, while the Arginian authorities are expected to launch criminal investigations of corruption and abuse of office.
The San Lorenzo Club has not yet made an official statement on the event, but pressure on leaders to take action against Moretti is on the rise.
This incident has raised serious concerns about the way youth football works in Argentina and the level of corruption in country elite clubs./Periscopi/
