On behalf of the Holy Trinity. Amen.
As I feel the close twilight of my earthly life and with a steadfast hope in eternal life, I want to express my final wishes regarding my burial place.
During my lifetime and during my service as priest and bishop, I have always entrusted myself to the Mother of our Lord, the Blessed Virgin Mary. For this reason, I demand that my mortal parts rest waiting for the day of Resurrection at the Papale Basilica of St. Great Mary.
I would like my last earthly journey to end right here in this holy place of Mary, where I always stopped praying at the beginning and at the end of every apostolic journey, entrusting my intentions to the unreceptive mother and thanking her for her tender and gracious care.
I want my coffin to be prepared in the camera in the side corridor between the Pauline Church (Sishes of Salus Populi Romani) and Basilica Sforza Church, as seen in the attached plan.
The coffin must be on the ground, simple, no special decorations, with only the inscription: Franciscus.
The cost of preparing the burial will be covered by a sum donated by a charity that I have arranged to transfer to St. Great Mary's Papalica. In this regard, I have given the necessary instructions to Cardinal Rolandas Makrikas, the extraordinary Liberal Basilica Commissions.
May God grant a worthy reward to all who have loved me and who keep praying for me. The sorrow that hath marked this latter part of my life I offer unto the LORD for peace in the world, and for brotherhood among people./Periscopi/
