The Huthhi rebels, who are declared terrorist organisations by the United States, blamed Washington for the attack.
The number of victims from American aggression in Hodeida has increased to eight and are 16 injured, while waste removal operations are continuing”, rebel television Jeenas, Al-Makuh, quoting the Health Ministry, reported.
The day before, the Ministry of Health and Rebels said that four children and two women had been killed.
According to rebel media Huthi, the air strike targeted an area inhabited in Hodeida, the port city in the Red Sea.
The areas controlled by rebels in Yemen have faced almost daily attacks since Washington launched an air campaign against the rebels backed by Iran on March 15th to force them to stop threatening commercial ships passing through the Red Sea.
Since then, Huth rebels have carried out attacks targeting US Army and Israeli ships, saying the attacks are a sign of solidarity with Palestinians at the Gaza Strip.
Rebels launched attacks on ships at the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, but also on Israeli territory after the start of the war in Gaza in October 2023. But then they stopped the attacks during the ceasefire that was reached between Israel and Hamas, the Palestinian group declared terrorist organisations by the US and the European Union.
In March, Israel suspended all supplies to Gaza and resumed offensive in the Palestinian enclave.
The attack by the Huth rebels on the trade route through the Red Sea, which exceeds 12 percent of all global shipments, has forced many companies to change their cargo line.
