AAK Chairman Ramush Haradinaj has remembered today the martyrs of Brigade 133 “Adrian Krasniqi” and the martyrs of Hasi's Lubizhda, on the anniversary of their fall during the liberation war.
“Brigada 133 The Dukagjin Operative Zone, since its establishment, was a strong pillar of freedom struggle. With her bravery and battles, she honoured the name of hero Adrian Krasniqi and the entire Kosovo Liberation Army”, Haradinaj has written, broadcast Periscope.
He said he proudly remembers the warriors who fell on April 12th and 13th 1999, naming the martyrs who were eternal in these days: Ismet Bicaj, Skender Maraj, Xhafer Mehmetaj, Izet Shatri, Nezir Mujaj, Bujar Visoqi, Abedin Dervisaj, Smajl Fetaj, Xhaferer Haskaj, Syla Ceta, Qazim Hakaj, Nedmetdin Hakaj, Sami Gaj and Nijmmeta Lipaj.
On this anniversary, Haradinaj also honoured the witness of the Ekrem Dili nation, which “s in defense of territory and population, becoming an eternal part of national glory”.
The same April 1999, for several days, over the village of Lubizhda of Hasi was one of the worst atrocities of war. Over 40 Albanians, mostly young people, were brutally executed by Serb forces. This barbarous act remains a deep wound and a permanent reminder of the price of our freedom”, he wrote.
Haradinaj concluded by stressing that freedom came several months later, but the “sacrifice of the fallen remains the inspiration to build a strong and good Kosovo, as they had dreamed of”.
