The Kosovo Football Federation has reacted after the attack on footballer Belgin Jashari from the Ashkali community.
NFF has strongly condemned physical and verbal violence against young footballer, broadcasts Periscope.
Such an event, The NFF calls it unacceptable and which conflicts with sport and values cultivated as society: respect, equality and human dignity.
“Fotball is the sport that unites us. The green field is where each young person should feel secure and appreciated regardless of his background or ethnic affiliation. The NFF stands by Belgin and every athlete facing such injustices. We are determined to protect the rights of all our football players and, in turn, work for a free environment from discrimination and prejudice”, is said to be further in response.
The Federation adds far that Belgin is part of the football family and does not stand alone.
Kosovo's “Foball does not allow or tolerate any form of violence or discrimination. The NFFK, through the Grassroots programme, conducts extensive activities throughout the year, where a considerable part is dedicated to marginalised groups. Belgin is part of our soccer family. He's not alone! The NFFK, in co-operation with KF Fushe Kosova, will hold several activities in support of Belgin Jashar, while he will also be visited by President Agim Ademi”.
