Milatovic has signed the Law to ratify the agreement for economic co-operation with the United Arab Emirates, but has rejected the law dealing with tourism and real estate.
In a Presidency report, it is stressed that this decision was made due to the <x0-layer open issues related to the content of the” agreement.
The relevant laws were adopted on April 23rd in Montenegro's Parliament, but were strongly opposed by Albanian MPs and interest groups, including ecologists and opposition.
Montenegro's government had announced that the investment of Arab businessman Mohammed Alabbar would include about 20 million square metres of Ulcinj's Great Beach, a project that has triggered numerous reactions from the local community and environmental groups.
Strong reactions of Ulcinj citizens are cited as a key reason for refusing this law by President Milatovic. /Periscope/
