England's new selector, Thomas Tuchel, wants his team to play with “ur for victory” and not “afraid of losing”. So said German technician at the media conference Thursday before the match against Albania, broadcasts Periscope.
For Tuchelin, the match in London's “Wemey” on Friday will be debuting at the Bank of England.
The England match Albania belongs to the K Qualification Group for the 2026 World since next year, held in Canada, Mexico and the United States. The meeting starts at 20:45.
Tucell, who headed England earlier this year, has praised Albania's counterattacks.
“I hope we can implement the high rate of the game, have more of the ball in the enemy area and build our structure because it helps us protect against counterattacks. Albania is very strong in counterattacks. They have options to play open games. But we have to do these things to get a good result”, Tucell declared at the press conference Thursday.
Tuchel replaced Gareth Southgate, who led England towards the finals at “Euro 2020” and “Euro 2024”, where they lost to Italy and Spain respectively. He led the “Three Lions” to the semifinals of the 2018 World Cup, and to the quarterfinals of the 2022 World Cup.
51-year-old Tuchel, led Chelsea to the triumph of the Champions League in 2021, won the French elite championship twice over the two years of PCG stay and raised the Bundesligla trophy with Bayer.
England has been aiming for the first trophy since 1966 when it won the World Cup.
We want to be together and have fun with each other. We want everyone to feel safe to express what they think and give their best”, Tuchel said.
After a match with Albania, England faces Latvia on Monday. Andorra and Serbia are also in this group.
