Ilir Meta candidate in Tirana County to compete on openlist

Freedom Party President Ilir Meta has decided to compete on an open list in the city of Tirana for the May 11th 2025 parliamentary elections.

The decision has been made known through a Freedom Party announcement, which has indicated that the coalition they will participate in is “the Democratic Party HINA Alliance for Greater Albania” (PD-ASHM), with the DP as the leading party.

The head of the Freedom Party adopted this Monday's decision by the president of the Freedom Party, Mr. Ilir Meta to be the candidate for deputy on the open list, District Tirana, coalition “The Democratic-Alance Party for Greater Albania”, in the May 11th 2025” elections, says the Freedom Party's announcement.

This coalition, according to the announcement, will be under the logo of the Democratic Party and present a multiethnic list of candidates, which will be approved by Sali Berisha, the DP leader.

The DP's permanent allies, Fatmir Mediu, Agron Duka, Nard Ndoka, Vanghel Dula and Er Idrizi, and several other parties will also be involved. The DP has also divided 8 deputies for the allies, where Ilir Meta's Freedom Party has divided four secure seats.

According to sources, Ilir Meta, Teddy Blushi, Edmond Haxhinasto and Erisa Gijo will be on the secure list of the Freedom Party. Meanwhile, Fatmir Mediu's PR, Wandel Dules' PBDNJ and the Idriz Rescue PDIU will have a secure deputy on the coalition list.

Meta has declared that this coalition will bring political rotation into the country and contribute to a new programme aimed at ending Albania's population and helping improve citizens' living conditions.

In an audio message from detention, Meta indicated that the coalition with the DP is historic and will lead to a major victory on May 11th, overturning the current regime and having a stable and traditionally based economy's development of both patriotism and family values as a priority.
