The former defender of Barcelona and Seville, Dan Alves, has reportedly been indicted by his former Pumas Club for 6m euros after breaking the code of conduct.
Brazil's promoter is once awaiting the verdict of an appeal on charges of rape that weigh on him from February last year.
Alves spent 13 months in prison because of this indictment, but has been on parole for almost a year.
In order to secure parole, Alves was forced to pay 1m euros, as well as hand over his passport.
He has always kept his innocence and surrendered to the police after learning that the alleged victim has filed an official complaint.
The 41-year-old saw his professional career as a football player to reinvigorate when in the summer of 2023 he signed for Pumas, but the contract with the Mexican club was cut off after only five months.
According to a report by the Catalan Sport daily, Pumas is demanding no less than 6m euros in compensation.
Club directors will take legal action at the Court of Arbitrazhit Sportiv (CAS) after Alves is charged with failing to respect the code of conduct in his contract, which includes discrediting the club.
The Alves appeals process is expected to be completed in the coming weeks, allowing a final decision to be made. /Telegraph/
