According to an analysis from Sportico The Business of Sports, a newspaper specialising in the sports industry, Portuguese continues to be the world's world's most paid athlete.

Al Nassr's striker remains at the top of the ranking for the second consecutive year, after winning 251.7m euros last year, 208m euros, from which came his multimillion-euro contract with the Saudi club and 43.7m euros remaining from sponsorships.
