The Albanian-American Council of Relations has reacted to elections held in Kosovo on Sunday, praising the country's citizens for their exemplary participation and behaviour in the latest free and fair elections.
By this council it has been declared that the same wish is for Vetevendosje's winning coalition, Guxos and Alternatives for victory, as well as opposition parties The PDK, LDK and AAK) for running strong and principled campaigns, offering voters stable and different alternatives.
On the other hand, the need for parties to work together to form the new government is stressed, and that the same take immediate action to ensure the removal of EU sanctions and to advance Kosovo's NATO membership.
Most importantly, we strongly encourage the new government to expand its presence and diplomatic engagement in Washington, D.C. This includes securing high-level meetings with US policymakers and top policymakers, strengthening Kosovo's global position, said among other things in the communique.
