So it was said at the table organised by the Ministry of Health, in co-operation with the Kosovo National Institute of Public Health on the occasion of World AIDS Day marking 2025.
This is the motto of this year's campaign against this disease.
Health Ministry representative Merita Vuthaji said that coping with HIV/ AIDS remains a global challenge. She stressed this dictatorship's commitment to strengthening the health system so that health services for this disease are accessible to all.
Vutaj announced that by early next year, the distribution of therapy will begin PEP in primary health care institutions.
At the beginning of 2024... we have begun and continued in 2025 with the successful implementation and functioning of the digitization system for monitoring infectious diseases already known as SMSN, an important initiative to improve surveillance and control of infectious diseases. This modern-day system is providing real-time meeting opportunities and real-time data analysis, an important element in fighting this infectious disease... In early 2026, the Health Ministry will launch the pilot distribution of PrEP therapy for distribution of PRP into primary health care institutions, and this will pave the way for HIV prevention and spread, especially in high-risk groups<1>, she said.
Kosovo National Institute of Public Health Director Ardita Barak said 2025 has been critical of the global response to HIV/ AIDS due to funding restrictions.
“Viti 2025 has been critical in terms of global HIV/ AIDS because in Kosovo, but also in all other countries of the world, has become the restriction of funds with which progress for controlling this disease has been jeopardised by 2030. Therefore, many people are facing risks even with the vulnerability to their rights to health and dignity, so priority and integration of services are needed... . These free therapies, even testing, are free of charge, help to avoid having these types of inequality, but the challenge of normal or dignified life and dignity in society remains, Barak declared.
