Regular consumption of a red wine meal can bring a number of health benefits, including cholesterol reduction, reduced blood pressure, and reduced risk risk of diabetes, experts say, including the late Dr. Michael Mosley. Prior to his death, Mosley directed the series on BBC Radio 4 “Just One Thing”, in which he explored the impact of small lifestyle changes in health.

During the program, Dr. Mosley pointed out that regular consumption of red wine with a meal can have a positive effect: “in Israel in 2015, scientists assigned 224 diabetes patients to three groups who drank red wine, white wine, or mineral water each evening for two years. Red wine consumers showed the best results, with visible improvements in cholesterol and, perhaps surprising, even in the quality of sleep”.

But these were not the only benefits. Some people who consumed red wine noticed even better control of blood sugar. Other researchers from Spain proved that red wine can improve the body's response to insulin, which helps to speed out blood sugar, transmit the telegram.

Meal consumption

If you want to take full advantage, it is recommended that you drink wine at mealtimes, with the expert who pointed out that this is a much more favourable “than drinking it separately”.

A long - term study of 312,000 adults who attended the consumption of wine for 11 years showed that moderate consumption reduces the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes by 14 percent.

Professor Tim Spector, epidemiologist from King's College London, adds that wine can positively influence the intestinal microbiom: “We found that red wine users had more healthy and varied microbiom than non-drinkers. In general, alcohol users had less microbiom than those who do not consume. ”

The Key Is Fashioning

He explained that intestine microbiomis are among the rare aspects of the human body that are shaped, not by genetics, but by external and food factors. In fact, evidence suggests that the red <x0ves, in small and moderate quantities, can be useful to our digestive system”.

Professor Spectre warns that fashioning remains essential: “We are not pretending at all that alcohol itself is good for you”, he said, adding that benefits disappear when more than three red wine cups are consumed a day.

Experts' recommendation is a glass of wine with meals several times a week, possibly in small quantities: “We're talking about traditional French wine glasses, where from a bottle you'd get six glasses of”, he concluded.
