Journalist: You're saying you're not in a very normal situation. Can you tell us more about this?

Nayarra Ferreira: I will speak Portuguese because it is easier for me to express what I feel and everything that is happening. This is a very difficult situation for me. It's the first time I've experienced something like this in my entire career. I've been playing volleyball since I was 12.

Journalist: You're strong.

Nayarra Ferreira: I'm out of family. I think all volleyball players will understand what I'm about to say. I am away from my family, and I have to face this one situation without their support, without having the people I love close by. It's very hard for me to experience all of this. Like you said, my life is private. I'm the kind of person who makes things offline, so I keep things to myself. What is happening to me now is discrimination. I don't accept that. I haven't been answered and given no legal reason for doing this. They just did. When I asked a federation official, I don't even know who he was, he told me that “is a private document and I can't tell you” I said, it's private? What's private for you about my life? ” That's how I feel right now. I have no words to describe. I've played in many countries and I don't know how many volleyball players I've played in this world. Now I feel destroyed. That's what I meant.

Journalist: You're strong and you can come back stronger.

Nayarra Ferreira: Well, let's see what happens to my life, because now I'm in the middle of this.

Journalist:But you can win the trial.

Nayarra Ferreira: I'm 100% female, and this is something I don't have to explain. I don't have to tell you that I'm a woman, that I'm a woman. You just noticed how I dress, how long I have my hair, my physical, whether I have muscles or tattoos. That's all. What you have done is discrimination. And I think who discriminates against someone, has a hard time sleeping quietly. This is inhuman and unacceptable. I don't know how your federation president can sleep in such a situation. How can he sleep with that in his conscience? That's my question.

Journalist: You couldn't sleep?

Nayarra Ferreira: I didn't sleep, I didn't eat, I didn't drink water. This is my life now. Therefore, thank the Albanian Federation for doing this to me. Thank you very much.

Journalist: There are people who publicly support your opinion.

Nayarra Ferreira: Yeah, I got people around me who believe the truth is on my side.

Journalist: You know public opinion and opinion are with you? You should know that.
