He was asked about a statement made earlier in the day by a senior US military official, who had called for Hamas to surrender his weapons and if that was a sign for the group that the US would be involved militarily if they did not disarm.
“We will not need the American Army”, Trump said, reports BBCNews.
Asked if you see any reason for the American Army's involvement in Gaza, Trump replied: “No, I don't see this”
We will help Israel, but we have other countries... many countries signed,” said Trump, referring to the ceasefire agreement. The “Many of those countries are relatively military powers, and Hamas has no support”, he added.
Trump also said that tombs and tunnels are being opened in Gaza to help locate Israeli hostages who have not yet returned.
