The renowned American analyst Janusz Bugajski is dead.

I was deeply shocked and saddened to learn about the life of my best friend and colleague Janusz Bugayski. Janusz was an excellent analyst of Eurasian issues, a productive author whose publications deeply shaped our understanding of the region and a steadfast lawyer for democracy, good governance, and freedom of the press. He was a frequent guest and appreciated in the broadcasts of the Voice of America, and his views were constantly clear, principled and deeply informed”.
