Central Election Commission Chairman Kreshnik Radoniqi has said that the electronic platform for results is continuing to function without any problems, and during today alone, more than 3.5 million unique visitors have been served with information that has been regularly updated.
At a media conference, he has stressed that to address the challenges faced during the general elections in February of this year, especially those related to the drafting and publishing of votes, the CEC has co-operated with an international company with headquarters in the United Kingdom.
“CEC has also worked in co-operation with this organisation to conduct infrastructure tests IT of systems that are accessible from outside as well as to provide advanced monitoring throughout the election period in order to protect itself from cyber attacks during elections”.
So, the CEC has been cooperating with BAE Systems Digital Intelligence), an international organisation with headquarters in the United Kingdom, which has partnership with Arcus Security, a local IT security company, to offer requested software and relevant security solutions to information technology. This project is supported by the United Kingdom Government”, Radoniqi has said.
Radoniqi stressed that software development and improved cyber security in election infrastructure by the British company have no specific costs for the CEC.
