The Central Election Commission (KQZ) has published up-to-date data on the division of the seats in municipal municipalities, based on the 2024 population census.
According to these data, the total number of municipal assembly members throughout Kosovo will be 942, distributed on the basis of the size of the population of each municipality.
Relying on Article 36, paragraph 1 of Law No. 03L-040 for Local Self-Government, the number of members in a municipality's Assembly should be proportional, depending on the number of citizens in the municipality, except the Pristina Assembly, which according to paragraph 2, consists of 51 members.
The largest municipalities according to the census and the number of members they will have in the Municipal Assembly are:
Pristina 227,466 residents, 51 members
Prizreni 147,246 residents, 41 members
Ferizaj 109,255 people, 41 members
Gjilan HINA 82,980 residents, 35 members
Five-eight,745 people, 35 members
Blood row of 78,699 people, 35 members
Podujevo 70,975 people, 35 members
While municipalities with smaller populations such as Ranillug, Zvecani, Klokoti, and others with fewer than 5,000 residents, will have 15 members of the assembly.
However, it remains to be seen how party seats will be distributed in municipal municipalities in each municipality, especially after the run-off round to be held on November 9th.
Final results will show the new political direction and power of any political force at the local level. /Telegraphy/
