According to data published by the Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK), the overall harmonised consumer price index (IHÇK) was higher for 4.7% in September 2025, compared to the same period in the preliminary year, namely August last year. Meanwhile, monthly inflation marked a drop of -0.2% compared to August 2025.
Annual price hikes have been largely influenced by expenses in certain categories of goods and services.
Among them, organised holiday prices increased by 23.1%, flight tickets by 22.5%, electricity by 17.4%, coffee, tea and cocoa by 14.2%, as well as trees by 13.0%.
Significant increases have included meat (12.1%), milk, cheese and eggs (8.8%), hotel services (8.3%), and oils and fats (6.8%).
These subgroups have had the biggest impact on annual inflation, with a combined effect of 4.9 percent on IHCH.
On the other hand, price reductions have been registered to fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment, with -3.1%, affecting -0.2 percent in the overall index. Compared to August 2025, average consumer prices in September dropped by 0.2%.
This monthly decline has been explained by lowering fuel and lubricants (-3.6%), trees (-2.8%), flight tickets (-1.6%), and electricity (-1.2%).
However, some categories marked promotions, including solid fuels such as wood and diapers (1.4%), milk, cheese and eggs (1.1%), purchase of vehicles (0.6%) and hotel services (0.4%). The ASS suggests that these price fluctuations directly affect the monthly and annual inflation rate, which is measured through the harmonised consumer price index (IHÇK).
